✏️ If I was your marketing strategist

One of the biggest mistakes I see with holidays offers…
Not priming your audience. (Or as I like to say, priming the pump.)
Black Friday/Cyber Monday/holiday offers are like anything else in your business.
👉👉 If you want people to pay attention, you need to give them a reason and you need to remind them of it OFTEN.
True for any business, but especially a small business during Q4.
Sending an email the morning of Black Friday and expecting subscribers to pay attention...
(when they’re also getting bombarded with loads of other emails, overbearing family members, holiday hoopla, etc.)
...is not setting yourself up for success, my friend.
If you’re going to put in the work to run a holiday promotion, let’s make sure you’re getting as big of a cut of the multi-billion dollar BF pie as you possibly can (with extra whipped cream on top) 🥧💰.
So here are my top tips for building next level buzz around your holiday campaigns:
1️⃣ Remember that the energy starts with YOU
If you’ve been hanging with me for awhile, you know one of my all-time fave marketing mantras is:
“What you put out is what you get back.”
Simply put — if you want people to get freaking excited about what’s dropping on Black Friday, that excitement has 👏 to 👏 start 👏 with 👏 you. 👏
You’re the match that lights the Black Friday fuse, my friend. 💣 People won’t get excited about anything unless YOU give them a reason to.
2️⃣ Give people a reason to care
Your people are going to get plastered with LOADS of Black Friday and holiday messaging.
So begs the million dollar question: Why should they pay attention to yours?
A great way to do this is to give it a memorable theme. Something simple that also tells them exactly what they get when they shop with you.
e.g. “Top drawer beauty buys for everyone on your nice list” or “Gift holiday foodie fun to your mini food explorer” 💄🍕
Make that the through-line, the red thread that carries through all of your holiday marketing and ties it all together.
3️⃣ Use every channel you have
‘tis the noisiest and most chaotic time of the year. Right now, it pays to pepper. 🧂
Your goal between now and 11/28 should be to drop as many teasers, reminders, hints that you can manage as a team of one.
That means putting a reminder on your website, dropping countdown timers in your emails, marking off the days in your Stories.
You want anyone and everyone who comes into contact with your business between now and BF to know that you’ve got some serious magic up your sleeve that they won’t want to miss.
It takes effort and planning, but if you want the secret to an insanely successful holiday campaign, that’s it.
4️⃣ Have a dang plan
The only — I repeat, ONLY — way to win is to have a plan. 🧭
You and i both know this time of year is cray-zy with a side of insane and a dash of bedlam. It’s not the time to wing it.
So invest the extra 30 minutes and map out a plan. It’ll be the best 30 minutes you invest this month. Trust me.
